RPOAC'S Fire Arms Legal Defense Plan
Information and Application Form
If you have been paying attention to our articles in the PORAC Law Enforcement magazine you may recall that we have been working with two of the PORAC LDF law firms in an effort to offer professional legal representation to our members on FALD issues. As a result we now have available two programs designed to give reasonable recourse to these FALD matters.
For many years we have heard members of RPOAC complain about being denied a FALD authorization endorsement on their identification card. Some have been industrial disability retirees. Others have been POA leaders that have run afoul of their administration. But whatever the case they have been denied the right to legally carry their handgun in civilian life.
For many former law enforcement officers this creates a certain amount of anxiety, because they have no means of protecting themselves or their loved ones, should they by chance encounter someone they had arrested who may hold a personal grudge. Or they may come upon some serious criminal activity that could endanger themselves or others only to find themselves defenseless and helpless to take actions.
For those faced with FALD endorsement denied problems we offer legal representation in administrative actions through our Plan I program.
For those who are endorsed for FALD, who find it necessary to display or use their handgun, we now offer Plan II that will provide you legal representation in the event you come into jeopardy with the criminal or civil justice system.
To learn more about this opportunity we urge you to read the “Plan Document” which can be found on the RPOAC website. If you find that either plan can be beneficial to your needs an application can be downloaded from this site.
By completing the application form and paying for one year of coverage, in advance, we will enroll you in the coverage plan which these two law offices now offer. Once this enrolment is completed your name will be provided to the appropriate law office. Your address and telephone numbers will remain with our headquarters. Annual renewal notices will be sent to you by our executive director.
This is not an insurance program!
It is a member only prepaid legal program administered by RPOAC!
